Membership to the Society is by petition. Not everyone comes to Columbia willing to lay bare and deepen their convictions in the face of scrutiny. A temperament of intellectual curiosity and honesty is expected. A familiarity with intellectual history is desirable. Members should expect to engage in the faithful pursuit of truth.
Importantly, members should carry with them a strong sense of personal integrity, without which the competition of values and ideas loses its potential for virtuous formation.
For more information about the petitioning process, please contact the Lord Chairman.
